How life at the moment?
Kind of chill, i just came back from a 2 weeks holidays in maroco, i worked all the summer on the album, thinking really hard about the concept, what does it means, what do i really want to show, also creating new song, doing modifications, i have actually found the name of the album but it is too early to say it to you
How are you finding the music scene in Barcelona? What is the makeup of it?
Except all this ambient & techno thing that i do not really like, I would say there is a whole new vibe of cool young people doing really interesting things, i went to a really cute festival in the beginning of spring called “prom fest” it was in the smoking area of the apollo club, there was some really great artist man, there were this band called Juncal Riviero, one of the singer is playing in Cariño that i really love, there was also Confeti de Odio, Marcelo Criminal... i don’t really know how to express the mood but it was really great and open to every one, no snobbish bullshit
You are clearly a romantic, almost all your songs are beautifully shaped around love. What is it about romance that draws you to create it in your music?
For me the most inspirational thing about love is the miss of someone your love, it gets me in a dreamy & melancholic mood which is one of my favorite feeling. So of course when you creates during these moments you see a lot of images, every chords, melody you would play will have much more sense to you
What’s the best gig you have seen in the last year?
I guess Cariño in Valence, we were playing in the same festival and they were playing just after me, it was really hot and crowded, i had never heard of them before, they went on stage, i see 3 girls kind of young, the crowd start to scream and everything, i could see all that because i was on the sidestage, when they start to play man it was crazy, their music is a kind or pop/rock quite high tempo, the 3 girls sings together, so much energy, the crowd knew all the lyrics, it was the definition of good concert
What inspires you to create the mix of joyous and melancholy sounds?
There are a few element, my apartment in Barcelona is on the roof so there are a lot of birds, the image of airiness they represent inspires me a lot. Likewise on my desk i have a drawing of a woman doing water skiing, the drawing is really bright with a beautiful blue for the sea, i often watch this drawing and i imagine some love summer stories. Boats are also something that gives me a lot of ideas, the calm they spread when you watch them from far aways is incredible, its an esthetic inspiration too, some of their design are so cool with fantastic colours.
Ozzy Osbourne has tried every substance known but says that coffee is his Kryptonite. What is your Kryptonite?
Hangover are killing me, it destroys an entire day where i will be in toilet throwing up, i don’t know why, i try to find solution like eating an apple at the moment you come home, but its not that efficient
There are many kinds of hats. What’s your favourite?
I love this question, well i just bought a really special hat in Maroco, its a flabby cotton bob with a mix of blue colours, i find it really cool, if you wear it with a mustache, a square look with nice Nike shoe thats perfect, but of course my girlfriend hates it
Have soup as the only meal for the rest of your life or only have one outfit for the rest of your life?
I will go for the soup, i think that in life you have more liberty with the same soup rather than the same outfit
