Introducing, Sydney based producer Prince Matton.

Listen to a Mix from Prince Matton

The multi-disciplinary musician who creates synth-driven house music from the comfort of his bedroom. With experience Djing at festivals and events all over Australia Prince Matton is ready to perform his new music in venues and events.

After a year of writing and recording the artist is ready to share his first two singles with the world, starting with the electro driven Perspectives. A member of Sydney collective Yeah Nah Yeah, and with a history of bands including King Colour, SCK CHX, Dives and Jermango Dreaming, Prince Matton is no emerging artist. No, the songwriter has a maturity in his sound that is instantly tasteful and attractive.

Prince Matton’s sound moves between the dance floor and the lounge room, encouraging movement in the body and walking in the mind. He’s inspired by the forgotten sounds of yesteryear that pushed boundaries. With him, you’ll hear some synth-pop, Balearic, house, boogie and breakbeat. He translates his ideas to sound via the Roland TR-707, Korg Poly61, 303 baseline sequencer and a range of other analog instruments. Prince Matton is the moniker of Matthew Digges - currently based in Sydney, and part of the Yeah Nah Yeah crew.

Prince Matton’s first two singles are Body Of Water and Perspectives. Both songs are high in energy and are oriented towards movement. Body Of Water, mixed by Paul Extra / Caravan has a bouncing, ethereal feeling. The song is sonically influenced by the club tinged pop of the early 90s, and also by modern cosmic disco such as Mildlife. The lyrics invite you to ponder on the ubiquity of water to life, and how that might influence the subjectivity of experiences.

Perspectives, co-produced and mixed by Dives is a cosmic instrumental, traversing through an expansive scape of chugging rhythms, introspective timbres and vivid melodies. You might want to put this on when you want to pump up.
