'This EP is the moon and the last EP was the sun. These songs are kind of the opposite of the last batch, they are more calm and self-reflective. The style is influenced by the 50’s and 60’s revival that happened in the 80’s' - together PANGEA on Dispassionate.
L.A four piece - Together PANGEA are back with their latest EP - Dispassionate. A really considered four-track that highlights the bands ability to do more than just aggressive fuzz punk. It shows a brighter side with lyrics that are both relatable and captivating. The guitar work is reminiscent of 70’s acts such as Velvet Underground and George Harrison and a saxophone accompaniment in - Moonlight Lately, that is masterfully used to create an 80’s aesthetic that blends nicely with 50’s vocal stylings, to create a decade-bending cocktail that is garnished with some beautifully considered percussion. It is an extremely relaxing body of work that is able to feel reminiscent and nostalgic whilst maintaining a modern edge. There is angst and there is maturity in this music. These punks are growing up and creating music that is growing with them.
